PIECE OF MEAT AND THE ARTERY PROUDLY PRESENT PIECE OF MEAT SELLS OUT, AN EVENING OF PERFORMANCE AND VIDEO, AT THE SPEAKEASY CAFÉ, DECEMBER 10TH AND 11TH.
Piece of Meat Sells Out will be the Seattle troupes last local appearance before their upcoming move to Los Angeles, in their relentless pursuit of world domination. The evening will feature both a performance by Piece of Meat and the world premiere of their new video project. All proceeds will benefit the Piece of Meat Video Project, as well as local theater collective, The Artery. The event will be hosted by notorious local poet/musician, and longtime Piece of Meat collaborator, Harry Pierce.

The Performance:
Returning to their roots, Piece of Meat presents the latest installment of Piece of Meat Theatre, their club-oriented show which mixes the best and worst of sketch comedy and performance art. Super-charged acting blends with ridiculous spectacle, in a live show that guarantees to be both hilarious and horrifying. Come and see the last Seattle performance of Piece of Meat Theatre for the 1990s, and witness what can solely be described as the northwests only punk-rock theater.
The Video:
Shot during this last summer, Piece of Meat presents the world premiere of The Piece of Meat Video Project, a forty-five minute video piece comprised of short, sick comedy pieces. Witness a pistol-packing Buddhist monk, a moving story of a special athelete, a commercial for the most "extreme" sports drink on the market, a catastrophic practical joke show, an old lady, a cat, a lawnmower, and much, much more
A satire on American television that pushes the envelope of taste and decency, The Piece of Meat Video Project leaves no target unscathed, all the while making a sharp commentary on the outlandish state of American pop-culture

The Troupe:
Piece of Meat is made-up of core members Christopher Goodson, Eric Layer, John Q. Smith, and Christopher Tharp, all 1995 graduates of Cornish College of the Arts. They are dedicated to presenting exclusively original work. Since 1994 they have wowed Seattle audiences, both in clubs in theaters, with their riveting and somewhat twisted brand of theater. Previous productions include: White-Trash Dreams, The Still, The Trailer, The Wrestlers, and most recently, Shut-In, presened last spring to critical acclaim.

The Artery:
Composed of local theater organisations, GREX, Hyperion Theater, Nomadic Productions, One World Theatre, Paint My Fence, Piece of Meat, Seattle Playwrights Alliance, Theater Simple, Up in Your Grill, and Ursa Major, The Artery is a co-operative dedicated to space acquisition and general promotion of member groups.
