THE SNOW QUEEN
Nov 24 - Dec 30, 1999
an original adaption of a fairytale by Hans Christian Andersen
Internationally acclaimed theater simple warms the home fires with THE SNOW QUEEN , an original adaptation premiering during Christmas season in Seattle!
Seattle, WA:-
Seattle's own theater simple, reknown locally and abroad for their inventive adaptations of literature to the stage (The Master & Margarita, Notes from Underground) has set their sights on THE SNOW QUEEN, based on the classic tale by Hans Christian Andersen (The Little Mermaid, The Ugly Duckling) set to open at the ETHNIC CULTURAL CENTER THEATRE in the University District at Thanksgiving, and run thru Christmas.
ìLISTEN - This is the beginning. And when we get to the end, we will know more than we do now.î Thus begins the story of the Gerda and her journey to find her lost friend. Along the way, she'll encounter self-absorbed flowers, well-read royalty, talking crows, a ferocious robber girl, guardian angels and pesky devils. Trademark theater simple theatrics act as springboard for a fresh take on a familiar tale to make this one of the MUST GO! events during the holidays. All this, LIVE - for less than the cost of a CD...
